District Collector M.S. Madhavikutty has declared a holiday for all educational institutions in Kozhikode district on Saturday (June 6), following the latest red alert and reports related to dangerous waterlogging in urban and rural areas due to heavy rainfall.

The holiday will be applicable to schools, madrasas, tuition centres, anganwadis, and higher educational institutions, including professional colleges.

In the order issued on Friday (June 5), the Collector also clarified that there would be no change in the schedule of public examinations and university examinations already announced. With heavy rain continuing across the district, the district administration has urged residents to remain vigilant and avoid unnecessary travel.
