A suspended Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) constable was arrested by the Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force and S.R. Nagar police for allegedly transporting 158 kg of marijuana worth ₹79 lakh in the city on Tuesday (June 2, 2026).
The accused was identified as 39-year-old Panagudu Shiva Krishna, a native of Mothugudem in Alluri Sitharama Raju district of Andhra Pradesh who was residing in Kerala. Police said he was apprehended beside a lane near a private hospital in S.R. Nagar at around 9.20 p.m.
Officials seized 158 kg of marijuana, a Chevrolet Sail car bearing registration number KL 64 A 6092 and three mobile phones. According to DCP Task Force Vaibhav Gaikwad, Shiva Krishna joined the CISF in 2009 and later served with the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF). He was suspended in September 2025 after being arrested in an NDPS Act case by Dammapet police in Bhadradri Kothagudem district.
Police alleged that he procured marijuana from cultivators and supplied it to interstate peddlers in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Maharashtra, often using his CISF identity card to avoid vehicle inspections at checkpoints. Further investigation is underway.
