A 2K run, was organised by the management of Dr. R.V.R. N.R.I. Institute of Technology, Deemed to be University, located near Agiripalli in Eluru district on June 1.

Participating in the run, Indian athlete and five-time Guinness World Record holder Sufiya Sufi emphasised the importance of sports in daily life. She said: “Every student should cultivate a passion for sports and integrate it into their daily routine. This not only improves physical fitness but also reduces mental stress.”

She also expressed concerns over youth wasting their time on smartphones, and said that this is a leading cause of decline in sporting spirit and affecting their ability to compete on a global scale. She added that this has led her to organise motivational sessions for students.

The university Chancellor R. Venkatrao, Vice-Chancellor K.R.S. Sambasiva Rao, Pro-Vice Chancellor-2, C. Naga Bhaskar, and other university officials participated in the programme.
