Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, in the presence of Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and Mohammed Azharuddin, laid the foundation stone for an Integrated Sub-Registrar Office complex at Banjara Hills on Saturday. He said that the integrated facility would bring together departments such as Stamps and Registration, Survey, and related offices under one roof to improve public access and service delivery.
The Minister said 13 Sub-Registrar offices in the area would be modernised and operated on par with corporate standards. He added that the construction had been entrusted to reputed private firms, ensuring that the financial burden does not fall on the government. The complex is expected to come up over 30,000 sq. ft. in a few months.
Offices of S.R. Nagar, Banjara Hills, Golconda Sub-Registrar units, the DIG office, and the Registrar of Chits (Golconda) will be housed in the complex. The project is expected to generate employment and boost business activity in the area, he said.
Referring to houses to the poor, he said the government would avoid relocating beneficiaries far from their native areas, and instead develop housing within each constituency. He said that houses would be constructed under the Indiramma scheme within urban localities without affecting the livelihoods of the poor, adding that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy would soon lay the foundation for the first phase of one lakh houses soon.
The programme was presided over by local MLA Danam Nagender. MLA Naveen Yadav, MP Sunil Yadav, MLC Addanki Dayakar, and Stamps and Registration Special Secretary Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu, among others, were present.
