‘Flybrary’ to come up soon at Mysuru airport

A ‘Flybrary’, which is expected to provide travellers access to a variety of books while waiting for their flights, is soon expected to come up at Mysuru airport.

Aimed at promoting reading among air travellers and enhancing passenger engagement at the airport, the ‘Flybrary’ is shortly expected to be established in the Security Hold area of Mysuru airport shortly, said a statement here from Mysuru airport.

A book handover programme for the proposed Flybrary was held at the Community Hall in the airport premises in Mysuru on Friday. 

The initiative is a collaborative effort between Mysuru airport and Rotary Club of Mysore West aimed at promoting reading among air travellers, said a statement.

During the programme, a collection of books was formally handed over by representatives of Rotary Club of Mysore West for the establishment of the proposed ‘Flybrary’.

The event was attended by airport director P. V. Usha Kumari, president of Rotary Club of Mysore West Devaraju M., Honorary Secretary, Rotary Club of Mysore West B. M. Rudresha along with airport officials, other stakeholders and members of the Rotary Club.

Speaking on the occasion, the participants highlighted the importance of encouraging reading habits and creating a more enriching experience for passengers. 

“The proposed Flybrary is expected to provide travellers with access to a variety of books while waiting for their flights, thereby enhancing passenger engagement at the airport,” the statement said.

Mysuru airport, in the statement, has expressed its appreciation to Rotary Club of Mysore West for its valuable contribution and support towards this initiative.
