Mr. Shah is on an extended tour to the country’s border areas for security review and interactions with local officials and senior Border Security Force (BSF) officers.

The Union Minister headed to the border points in the morning, where he inaugurated the border outpost G-7.

He is scheduled to inspect a control room at “OP tower 1170” and visit the strategically significant Harami Nalla creek, one of the most inhospitable areas along the Indo-Pak border, where he will plant a sapling at a jetty point, according to details shared by his office.

Later in the afternoon, he is scheduled to chair a meeting to review security arrangements and interact with BSF personnel.

Mr. Shah started his tour from Bikaner in Rajasthan with a visit to the border outpost of the BSF at Sanchu. He attended the ‘Prahari Sammelan’ and virtually inaugurated barracks for women personnel, before reviewing the border security with senior BSF officers.

He is also likely to visit the nation’s eastern borders with Bangladesh, starting with a trip to Tripura on June 5, followed by a visit to West Bengal.
