A shepherd was killed after a shed collapsed on him during a brief spell of unseasonal rain accompanied by gusty winds that lashed Gollapalli village in Odela mandal of Peddapalli district on Monday evening.

The deceased was identified as Lakshmaiah, 57, of Gollapalli.

The incident occurred late on Monday evening when a portion of the shed collapsed on Mr. Lakshmaiah under the impact of strong gales, sources said.

Meanwhile, several parts of Peddapalli and Karimnagar districts witnessed sudden spell of unseasonal rain on Monday evening.

Sources added that the summer showers left a portion of paddy stored at the procurement centre in Ganneruvaram in Karimnagar district soaked.
