Five persons from Ingalagi village were killed on the spot in a head-on collision between a cruiser vehicle and a lorry near Neeladahalla, between Halkarta and Ladlapur villages, on National Highway 150 in Wadi police station limits in the early hours of Saturday (May 23, 2026).

According to the police, the accident occurred around 12.30 a.m. when the cruiser vehicle (KA-38 N-1712), driven by Mashaq Saab, son of Rukmuddin of Ingalagi village, was proceeding from Yadgir towards Wadi. An Ashok Leyland lorry (TN-34 MA-8283), which was transporting parcel goods from Gujarat to Chennai, collided head-on with the cruiser vehicle.

The impact of the collision was severe and five occupants of the cruiser vehicle died on the spot. The lorry driver reportedly fled from the scene after the accident.

The deceased were identified as Tolusab, 27, son of Mashaq Saab Kashwar; Husain, 48, son of Budan Shah; Mehabub Ali, 45, son of Sher Ali; Rasool Bee, 42, wife of Ismail Nashi; and Fatima, 38, wife of Mehabu Ali. All the deceased were residents of Ingalagi village.

Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister and Kalaburagi district in-charge Priyank Kharge expressed shock and grief over the incident. In a message posted on X, Mr. Kharge said the tragic death of five persons in the accident had deeply disturbed him.

“With a heavy heart, I pray for eternal peace to the departed souls. I hope the families find the strength to bear the loss of their loved ones,” he said.

Mr. Kharge said he had spoken to officials of the district police department regarding the incident and assured full cooperation from both himself and the district administration in extending necessary assistance to the families of the deceased.
