YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday (May 20, 2026) paid tributes to freedom fighter and the first Chief Minister of Andhra State, Tanguturi Prakasam Pantulu, and former Chief Minister Kasu Brahmananda Reddy on their death anniversaries. He also paid tributes to lyricist Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry on his birth anniversary.

At the YSRCP central office in Tadepalli, Mr. Jagan described Prakasam Pantulu as a symbol of courage, integrity and selfless public service. He recalled how Pantulu had fearlessly fought against British rule and dedicated his life to protecting the rights and welfare of the people.

A delegation from the A.P. Brahmin Association, led by former MLA Malladi Vishnu, submitted a memorandum seeking a memorial park for Prakasam Pantulu in Amaravati and the installation of his statue on the Assembly premises.

Mr. Jagan remembered Kasu Brahmananda Reddy, describing him as a visionary leader who played a key role in laying the foundation for major irrigation projects such as Nagarjuna Sagar. He said Brahmananda Reddy’s contributions as a freedom fighter and Chief Minister to agriculture and the State’s development would always be remembered.

Paying homage to Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry, Mr. Jagan described the lyricist as a literary icon whose songs carried deep social messages and reflected the richness of Telugu culture and traditions.
