The Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) in Kerala will begin the implementation of its 100-day action plan on June 1 with a focus on issues that can be addressed immediately. A decision to this effect was taken in the Cabinet meeting on Wednesday (May 20, 2026).

Addressing a press conference after the meeting, Kerala Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan said that directions have been issued to all departments to prepare project proposals and take necessary steps for implementation of all promises in the UDF’s election manifesto by 2031.

The Cabinet meeting also decided to extend the validity of all Public Service Commission (PSC) rank lists expiring on August 31, 2026 until November 30, 2026. Mr. Satheesan said the decision was taken since job aspirants were facing difficulties as appointments were held up due to the election process.

Among other decisions, a special sub-committee will be formed to recommend names for the Padma awards to the Union government. Mohammed Shah will be appointed as the Additional Advocate General of the High Court. The Cabinet meeting also decided to provide a compensation of ₹5 lakh to the family of Venu, a Kollam native who died due to alleged medical negligence.
