Welfare Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar on Tuesday strongly condemned remarks made by BJP MP Dharmapuri Arvind against Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, stating that public representatives should focus on people’s issues rather than making personal attacks.

Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan, the Minister said, “Arvind’s family political journey itself began with the Congress party. For such a person to now target Congress leadership reflects sheer political bankruptcy.”

Taking exception to the MP’s remarks against the Chief Minister’s family members, Mr. Laxman Kumar said that dragging personal matters into political discourse was unwarranted. He questioned whether it was appropriate to make such comments and remarked that similar allegations involving others could also be raised.

Nagarkurnool MP Mallu Ravi also countered Arvind’s remarks, asserting that Telangana was not comparable to other States and that Mr. Revanth Reddy remained firmly in control as Chief Minister.

He said Revanth Reddy had the leadership to take the Congress party forward and was working to strengthen the party in south India. He alleged that some political opponents were attempting to tarnish the Chief Minister’s image.
