The Mysuru district police have arrested a man from K. Madahalli village in the Jayapura Police Station limits for allegedly killing his mother suspecting her fidelity.
Superintendent of Mysuru Mallikarjun Baladandi said the accused Shivarudrappa, aged around 32, had fought with his mother Sudha, aged around 48, after someone from his village saw her travelling on a motorcycle with an unidentified man.
After seeing the photograph or video of his mother going on a motorcycle with another man, the accused assaulted her with a wooden staff in the village on Sunday, the police said. Though his cousins tried to take her to a hospital, she died en route.
After discussing with his father Nanjundaiah, the accused took the help of his cousins Akash and Abhi to set the body on fire in a field about three to four km away from their village.
Mr. Baladandi said the main accused, Shivarudrappa, had confessed to the crime. “They did not bring the body back to the village as they wanted to hide the incident,” he said.
The police have arrested Shivarudrappa for the crime, while his father Nanjundaiah and two others have been arrested for attempting to hide the incident.
