The authorities deployed drones and security cameras to monitor key locations during Dasara Utsavams at Sri Durga Malleswara Swamyvarla Devastanam. Officials will also use Artificial Intelligence (AI) to oversee the rush in the queue lines and at the temple premises.

The Endowments, Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC), Police, Revenue, A.P. Transco, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Medical and Health and other Departments will monitor the situation round-the-clock, said the officials.

“More than 500 CCTV cameras were linked to Model Guest House, from where a team of officers will review the rush atop Indrakeeladri, review traffic situation at bus and railway stations, queue lines and other points,” said District Collector G. Lakshmisha.

The CCTVs were installed at Pandit Nehru Bus Station (PNBS), railway station, Indrakeeladri, M.G. Road (Bandar Road), Eluru Road, parking places, holding areas and other major junctions.

Around 40 drones are pressed into service, which will be plied atop Indrakeeladri, to monitor the queue lines from Vinayaka temple to Durga Malleswara Swamyvarla devastanam and other places.

About 5,000 police personnel, including IPS officers, Additional Superintendents of Police (ASPs), Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), Circle Inspectors, SIs and others were deployed for bandobust, the police said.

“Police will oversee the security through drones and surveillance cameras. Around 10,000 CCTVs, 40 drones are being used to review security from time-to-time from Command Control Centre and Model Guest House,” said Police Commissioner S.V. Rajashekar Babu.
