Two separate fire accidents were reported in Hyderabad and Secunderabad in the early hours of Saturday, including a blaze at a hotel in Regimental Bazaar and another involving an electric transformer and roadside shops at Purani Haveli X road. No casualties or injuries were reported in both the incidents.

In the first case, a fire broke out at Metropolis Hotel in Regimental Bazaar, Secunderabad, at around 5.07 a.m. The blaze originated in the kitchen on the third floor of the multi-storey building and spread to the adjoining dining area.

Hydraulic platform vehicle bronto skylift from Secretariat, water tenders from Gandhi Outpost, snorkel appliance and bowser from Secunderabad were rushed to the spot for firefighting operations.

Officials said the dining area adjacent to the kitchen was gutted in the fire due to intense flames and heat. However, firefighters managed to prevent the blaze from spreading to the remaining portions of the building, which consists of two cellar levels, a ground floor and seven upper floors with mixed occupancy usage.

The suspected cause of the fire is believed to be electrical in nature, though the exact cause and extent of property loss are still under investigation.

In another incident earlier in the morning, several temporary roadside shops, which were close to an electric transformer, were gutted in fire at Purani Haveli X road in the old city area.

Fire personnel from the Salarjung Museum fire station rushed to the scene soon after receiving the information, while a water tender from Moghalpura was also pressed into service as a precautionary measure. Officials said the blaze was brought under control in time, preventing it from spreading to nearby properties.
