Two technicians were hurt in an explosion while they were working on an air conditioner unit at the Sports Council office in the city.

It is presumed that the explosion occurred while they were refilling gas (refrigerant) in the unit. Both men are currently admitted at the Government Medical College Hospital, Thiruvananthapuram. Medical College officials identified them as Suresh Chandran, 48, Melamcode, Nemom, and Rajesh, 48, hailing from Vedivechankovil.

The windshield of a car parked next to the office was also shattered in the explosion. The men were at work on the outdoor unit of the AC when the mishap occurred. Sport Council staff had found the two men sprawled on the ground and rushed them to the hospital.
