NEET paper leak case: CBI arrests five accused; conducts searches across country

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday (May 13, 2026) arrested five accused persons and conducted searches at several locations across the country in connection with the alleged irregularities and paper leak related to the NEET UG-2026 examination.

The NEET (UG) 2026 exam for admission to undergraduate courses in medical colleges, held on May 3, was cancelled on Tuesday (May 12, 2026) amid allegations of paper leak.

The government asked the CBI to carry out a comprehensive inquiry into the “irregularities”. This decision came as a Rajasthan Special Operations Group is investigating into the allegations of the exam paper leak.

The examinationfor students seeking admission to undergraduate courses in medical colleges will now be held again on dates to be notified separately.
