A mock anti-hijack exercise was conducted at Mysuru airport, in Karnataka, on May 11 evening.

According to a statement, the mock exercise was aimed at demonstrating Mysuru airport’s preparedness to handle aviation security contingencies.  

The drill involved Mysuru airport officials, KSISF, Karnataka State Police, the district administration, NSG, Intelligence agencies, Orient Flying School, Indigo airlines, medical teams, and airline representatives, aiming for seamless inter‑agency coordination.

Key emergency protocols, including aircraft isolation, security deployment, and crisis management procedures, were rehearsed under the observation of senior State Government and police officials.

According to a statement from the Mysuru airport director, the exercise was completed smoothly without affecting normal operations, reaffirming Mysuru airport’s commitment to passenger safety, security, and emergency readiness.
