Newly elected Tamil Nadu MLAs take oath in Assembly

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay took oath as a legislator in the 17th Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly on Monday (May 11, 2026). The pro-tem Speaker Karuppiah administered the oath.

Except S. Keerthana, Ministers N. Anand, Aadhav Arjuna, K.G. Arunraj, K.A. Sengottaiyan, P. Venkataramanan, R. Nirmalkumar, Rajmohan, T.K. Prabhu took oath in the House.

Leader of the Opposition Udhayanidhi Stalin, former Chief Ministers Edappadi K. Palaniswami and O. Panneerselvam took oath as legislators of the 17th Tamil Nadu Assembly. After taking oath, the newly-elected members signed in the Assembly register. The other members are taking oath now.
