Senior IPS officer Sandeep Patil has completed the 2026 IRONMAN 70.3 Western Sydney in Australia.

Mr. Patil, who has been posted as Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Northern Range, Belagavi, has completed his sixth Ironman.

Competing in the M45-49 category, Mr. Patil completed the gruelling event — featuring a 1.9 km swim, 90 km cycling and 21.1 km half marathon — in seven hours 16 minutes and 25 seconds.

His race splits included a 49.58 swim, 3.38.03 bike ride and a 2.35.06 run, securing 77th place in his division.

He has completed Ironman races in Goa, Thailand, Poland, Turkey, Copenhagen and Sydney.

He said that each race tested his endurance differently, but all demanded “consistency, discipline and the mindset to never stop moving forward”, said a release.
