Thirty-nine students from Kerala and Lakshadweep embarked on a cultural and educational journey beginning with a train trip to Jammu as part of the ‘Yuva Sangam’ initiative of the Government of India.

The Indian Institute of Management-Kozhikode (IIM-K) has teamed up with IIM, Jammu, for a student exchange programme as part of Phase VI of Yuva Sangam under the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) campaign of the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education.

Debashis Chatterjee, Director, IIM-K, flagged off the delegation from Kozhikode on Friday (May 8). Under the programme, the selected students, accompanied by faculty and staff members of IIM-K, will visit Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh and explore the cultural and social richness of the region over the next 11 days.

Conveying his best wishes to the delegation, Mr. Chatterjee said, “IIM-Kozhikode is thrilled to play a proactive role in this nationwide programme of the Ministry of Education focussed on nurturing the values of the younger generation. Yuva Sangam has emerged as a golden opportunity for students from Kerala to celebrate diversity and explore and appreciate the cultural richness of India, exemplified by the 5Ps of Yuva Sangam.”

The delegation consists of 38 students from Kerala, representing all 14 districts of the State and one delegate from Lakshadweep. The group comprises 21 male and 18 female participants, including undergraduate and postgraduate students as well as off-campus youth participants.

Likewise, the exchange will witness a 50-member delegation from Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, coordinated by IIM, Jammu, visiting IIM-K for a seven-day stay in Kerala. Exposure trips have been planned to give the visiting students a glimpse of the culturally rich and naturally mesmerising State of Kerala from May 28 to June 5, 2026.
