Among the awardees was Afshan Yasmeen, Deputy Editor, The Hindu, Bengaluru, who received the Excellence in Blood Cancer and Blood Disorders Reporting award for her story, “A Silent Burden: Thalassaemia Patients in Karnataka Battle Disease with Hope and Hardship.” The award recognised impactful journalism that helped bring attention to the challenges faced by patients and caregivers.

The event also honoured Latha Jagannathan, Medical Director and Managing Trustee, BMST Bengaluru, with the Lifetime Achievement Honour for her contribution to the field of blood cancer and blood disorder care.

Manipal Institute of Technology (MAHE), Manipal, was recognised as Outstanding Institutional Partner for promoting youth donor registrations, while EXL Technologies India received the Outstanding Corporate Partner award for supporting donor awareness initiatives through CSR programmes.
