A 24-year-old student was killed in a hit-and-run accident in Gachibowli in the early hours of Friday (May 8). The victim was identified as Shanker, who was working as a courier delivery executive while pursuing the third year of his degree course, and was a resident of Anjaiah Nagar.
The accident was reported around 12.55 a.m. on the main road near Shivalayam Temple in Gowlidoddi when Shanker was travelling towards Wipro Circle on his scooter. An unidentified vehicle hit him and fled the scene. He died on the spot due to the impact of the collision.
Police informed the victim’s parents about the incident and shifted the body to Osmania General Hospital for postmortem.
A case has been registered and efforts are under way to trace the unidentified vehicle involved in the accident.
