Online process to join arts and science colleges begins today

Students seeking admission to first year undergraduate degree programmes in government arts and science colleges in the State for the academic year 2026-27 may register online from May 7.

The application fee per student is ₹48 while the registration fee is ₹2. For students from SC and ST communities, the application fee has been waived. 

Those who are unable to apply online independently could submit their applications through Admission Facilitation Centres (AFC) at all government arts and science colleges. 

For the forthcoming academic year, a total of 1,26,959 seats are available across 159 courses in 181 government arts and science colleges in the State. In shift 1, 1,01,022 seats are available while in shift 2, the number is 25,937. 

Last day for registration is May 29. Students may log on to the website www.tngasa.in for more details and registration. For admission- related queries, contact the Directorate of Collegiate Education help centre at 044-24343100 and 24342011 between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on weekdays.
