The reversal of results in the Sringeri Assembly constituency, with the defeated BJP candidate D.N. Jeevaraj emerging victorious after recounting of postal ballots, took a twist on Tuesday (May 5). The Opposition BJP accused Speaker U.T. Khader of “intentionally” delaying the process of administering oath to Mr. Jeevaraj, and sought that Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot should step in and administer oath.

Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly R. Ashok and Mr. Jeevaraj called on the Governor on May 5 and complained to him against the Speaker.
