His Netherlands Majesty’s Ship (HNLMS) De Ruyter, an air defence and command frigate, has arrived in Kochi as part of its 160-day INDOPAC 2026 deployment. The ship arrived on Monday (May 4, 2026) and will leave on Thursday (May 7, 2026).
The ship’s visit coincides with that of a high-level delegation comprising Majoral General (Royal Marines) Rob De Wit, Deputy Commander of the Royal Netherlands Navy, and Marisa Gerards, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to India, to the Southern Naval Command (SNC) in Kochi.
During its stay in Kochi, the ship’s crew members will engage in joint training exercises with the Indian Navy to strengthen operational ties, an official statement from the Kingdom of the Netherlands said.
