United Democratic Front (UDF) candidate T.O. Mohanan defeated Senior Congress(S) leader and former Minister Kadannapally Ramachandran by a margin of 18,551 votes in the Kannur Assembly constituency on Monday. Mr. Mohanan secured 70,620 votes, while Mr. Ramachandran got 52,069 votes.
