Tamil Nadu Commission for Protection of Child Rights (TNCPCR) on Wednesday (April 29, 2026) recommended the Director-General of Police (DGP) to take immediate action to remove video clippings from social media that used children as influencers for political gain. It also recommended the DGP to initiate appropriate action to remove those video clippings from social media.

TNCPCR’s recommendation followed a representation by Tamil Nadu Child Rights Watch, which raised serious concerns on “emotional exploitation of children for electoral influence”.
