Seizures of illicit inducements in West Bengal surpass ₹510 crore: Election Commission

Ahead of the second and final phase of Assembly polls in West Bengal on Wednesday (April 29, 2026), the Election Commission on Monday (April 27, 2026) said total seizures of illicit inducements in the State surpassed ₹510 crore.

The amount is higher than ₹339 crore seized during the 2021 Assembly election and also exceeds recoveries made in the State during the 2024 Lok Sabha, a senior official said.
