The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) petitioned the Bengaluru City Police Commissioner on Monday seeking the cancellation of an event organised in support of activist Umar Khalid, who has been accused of conspiracy under terror laws.

A delegation led by P.C. Mohan, MP for Bengaluru Central, expressed concern over an event being planned under the banner of ‘Umar Khalid Prapancha’, which aims to show solidarity with Khalid, who is currently under arrest under anti-terror laws.
