Caught in a direct electoral battle with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the elections to seven municipal bodies scheduled on May 10, the Haryana Congress on Sunday (April 26, 2026) released its manifesto promising to create cities that are corruption-free, clean, and well-equipped with modern amenities.

Laying out a 15-point plan focused on sanitation, infrastructure, safety and governance, the party promised to transform cities into “Green Cities” with extensive green belts, beautified parks and public squares. Roads would be made pothole-free, the manifesto said. On security, the Congress pledged to install closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras throughout cities and strengthen existing security infrastructure.
