The members of A.P. Sagar Mitra Employees Union met Nellore MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy at his office here on Sunday and expressed their gratitude for his intervention in extending the Pradhan Mantri Madhya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) welfare scheme for an additional six months.

Sagar Mitras are the local youth engaged as ‘friends of the ocean’ under the PMMSY to serve as a bridge between the government and fishermen in coastal villages.
