BJP senior leader Gudur Narayana Reddy has demanded immediate payment of pending compensation, relief and rehabilitation (R&R) benefits to families displaced by the Nrusimha Sagar Reservoir, stating that the project has remained unused despite being completed in 2023 due to unresolved compensation issues.

The Nrusimha Sagar Reservoir, earlier known as Basavapur Reservoir, was constructed in Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri district under the Kaleshwaram project with a storage capacity of around 11.39 TMC. Though the project was completed three years ago, it has been lying vacant without catering to the needs of downstream areas, Mr. Reddy said.
