The union government appointed eminent economist and MLA in West Bengal Assembly, Ashok Kumar Lahiri, as the Vice-Chairperson of the Niti Aayog on Saturday (April 25, 2026).
Mr. Lahiri, a former Chief Economic Advisor to the government, replaces Suman K. Bery, who has been the Vice-Chairperson of the government’s think-tank since May 2022.
