In a step toward decentralising cardiac healthcare, the Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research on Friday signed a memorandum of understanding with the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) to establish a 100-bed Jayadeva satellite unit at Govindarajnagara in west Bengaluru, a promise made in the State Budget.

The agreement was signed between Jayadeva hospital Director B. Dinesh and GBA Chief Commissioner N. Maheshwar Rao in the presence of Medical Education & Skill Development Minister Sharan Prakash Patil, MLA for Govindarajnagar Priya Krishna, Additional Chief Secretary Mohammed Moshin, West Mahanagara Palike Commissioner K.V. Rajendra and other senior officials.
