50 TMCft of water to be released for 4.47 lakh acres in combined Nellore district in rabi season

Irrigation Advisory Council (IAC) has decided to release 49.760 TMCft of water from Somasila and Kandaleru reservoirs for the second (rabi) crop season for an area of 4,47,322 acres in the combined Nellore district. The water will be released on May 4, 2026 after obtaining the necessary permissions.

The IAC meeting was held at Nellore Zilla Parishad office on Thursday evening under the chairmanship of State Endowments Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy.
