As campaigning for the second phase of West Bengal elections picked up on Thursday (April 23, 2026), Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee sparred over jhaal muri (spicy puffed rice).
Four days ago, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a break from back-to-back public meetings and savoured jhaal muri from a shop at Jhargram and since then Mr. Modi’s snack break has become the talking point in campaigns in the State.
