The Save University Campaign Committee (SUCC) has sought action against what it termed as last-minute cancellation of the release of Sri Tirthapada Puranam, a biography of Chattambi Swamikal in 11 volumes, published by the Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit (SSUS).

Though the release of the book penned by A.V. Sankaran was included among the programmes held on the occasion of the ‘samadhi’ celebrations of Chattambi Swamikal at Panmana Ashram in Kollam on April 19, it had to be cancelled after Vice-Chancellor Ciza Thomas found that only four volumes were printed, while the other bound volumes slip-cased in a box were blank, it alleged.

SUCC leader R.S. Sasikumar alleged that the incident caused serious embarrassment to the university and sought a probe into it. V. Lissy Mathew, Professor, Malayalam department and co-ordinator of the project, said it was reported to the authorities that printing had been completed only for four volumes.
