A dispute between members of the Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) broke out over the playing of a song at an electronics store in Udhagamandalam on Tuesday (April 21, 2026).

The police said that the incident occurred when the employees of the store in Udhagamandalam, located along Lower Bazaar Road, were playing songs from a movie featuring TVK president and actor C. Joseph Vijay, when party members from the NTK were canvassing for votes during an election rally.
