Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, on Tuesday (April 21, 2026), contended only a “double-engine sarkar” (government) could bring “bullet-speed growth” to Tamil Nadu, and that a single-engine sarkar with political agendas would lead to stagnation.
Addressing journalists in Chennai in connection with the April 23 Assembly elections, Mr. Naidu said he was in Tamil Nadu to remind the people of the State about their future and who would deliver it. Calling himself a Dravidian, Mr. Naidu said Tamil Nadu is a cradle of Dravidian culture.
