Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, on Monday, alleged the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and the Congress had betrayed the country and its women by not supporting what he described as the “33% reservation for women”.

“It is a great injustice for the society, South India, and women. I am asking the DMK one straight question – Why did you oppose this Bill? What did you gain from it? You are saying Tamil Nadu has defeated Delhi. You did not defeat Delhi; you defeated the share of South India,” he said during an election campaign in Coimbatore. [The DMK and Congress had opposed the Constitution Amendment Bill linked to delimitation.]
