Leaders of the A.P. United Teachers’ Federation (APUTF) women’s wing on Sunday (April 19, 2026) said that although many laws have been enacted in India to safeguard women’s rights, a lack of sincerity in their implementation by ruling parties has resulted in continued atrocities against women.

Speaking at the State women teachers’ conference organised in Vijayawada, UTF leader Badrunnisa expressed concern and said that privatisation in education sector was weakening government schools, which in turn was distancing girls from education. She urged women teachers to closely study the ongoing changes in the education sector and work towards progressive reforms.
