The first edition of the biannual Naval Commanders’ Conference 2026 concluded in New Delhi on Friday (April 18, 2026) after four days of deliberations on operational readiness, emerging security challenges and future force development.

Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan addressed senior naval leadership on last day of the conference, underscoring the Indian Navy’s critical role in safeguarding maritime interests and preserving India’s maritime legacy. He stressed the need for deeper coordination between the Navy and other security and paramilitary agencies to strengthen coastal security architecture and curb transnational illegal activities.
