Speculation over leadership continues to dog the Congress in Kerala ahead of the announcement of the 2026 Assembly election results on May 4.

Former Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) K. Sudhakaran, MP, appeared to reopen the playbook of factional politics in the post-poll period by advocating for the “strong leadership” of All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary K.C. Venugopal, MP, in State politics.
