Eight from Karnataka killed in a road accident near Mantralayam

Eight persons from Karnataka were killed and 12 others suffered injuries when the vehicle in which they were travelling collided with a heavy vehicle near Mantralayam on the early hours of Thursday (April 16, 2026).

According to information reaching Kurnool, nearly 20 persons from Chikmangalore in neighbouring Karnataka were on their way to Sri Raghavendra Swamy Mutt, Mantralayam. The Bolero vehicle they were travelling hit a ready mix vehicle coming from the opposite direction near Chilakaladona in Yemmiganur mandal killing eight of them and leaving 12 others injured.
