A day after the Chief Minister’s political secretary Naseer Ahmed was sacked for alleged anti-party activities in the bypolls in Davangere South constituency, the Congress suspended K. Abdul Jabbar, a three-time MLC, from the party’s primary membership with immediate effect, citing similar allegations.
Mr. Jabbar had aspired to contest the April 9 bypolls from Davangere South, but was denied a ticket, with the party fielding Samarth Mallikarjun, son of Minister S.S. Mallikarjun.
