Natham Assembly constituency in Dindigul district is well known for mango and tamarind cultivation. The potential of the region should be realised by establishing government processing units. It would benefit the farmers and the people, and also boost the economy of the region, the farmers said.

In the 2026 Assembly election, Senior AIADMK leader Natham R. Viswanathan will lock horns with K. Selvakumar of the Tamilar Desam Katchi which is part of the DMK led Secular Progressive Alliance. Also in the fray are A. Alagammal of the Naam Tamilar Katchi and L.N. Ramesh of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam.
