Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday (April 14, 2026) addressed three public meetings in poll-bound West Bengal, accusing the Trinamool Congress of paving the way for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the State.

“The BJP spreads violence. Their Prime Minister is ‘compromised’. I won’t even talk about them. On the other hand, the Trinamool has paved the way for the BJP in West Bengal. Because, if the Trinamool had done its work, provided for your income, and didn’t spread violence, the BJP wouldn’t have been seen here,” Mr. Gandhi said.
