Parts of Kerala received summer rains on Friday influenced by a north-west trough. Ayyankunnu in Kannur recorded 4 cm rain during the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 a.m. on Saturday followed by Thiruvananthapuram, Kayamkulam in Alappuzha, Myladumpara in Idukki, and Taliparamba in Kannur which received 3 cm each.

According to a weather bulletin issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a north-south trough/wind discontinuity now runs from interior Odisha to Gulf of Mannar across south Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, and a cyclonic circulation over Marathwada, interior Karnataka and interior Tamil Nadu at 0.9 km above mean sea level. Under the influence of the system, scattered isolated summer rains will continue for the next four days.
