Leader of the Opposition V.D. Satheesan has written to the Chief Electoral Officer, Ratan Kelkar, that the IT department’s decision to suspend the functioning of the e-Office system at the Secretariat, the nerve centre of administration, while the election Model Code of Conduct remains in force, is quite suspicious.

According to the order issued by the IT department, the e-Office system will be shut down from April 10 from 10 p.m till 10 a.m. on April 15, as the State government has decided to roll out the latest version of e-Office in a phased manner. This means that during this period, the e-Office system will remain inaccessible to users, effectively halting the regular digital process for handling files and issuing government orders.
