Member of Parliament from Nellore Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy has assured that the NDA alliance government will always stand with the fishermen and appealed to the community not to get carried away by the ‘misinformation campaign’ launched by the YSR Congress party.

Addressing the media in Hyderabad on Sunday (April 05) along with Kovur MLA and his spouse Vemireddy Prashanthi, Mr Prabhakar Reddy said that the Sagar defence company coming up at Juvvaladinne fishing harbour would be of great benefit to the fisherman community.

“No injustice will ever happen under the regime of Chief Minister Mr.Chandrababu Naidu,” he reiterated, recalling that Mr. Naidu had taken the local legislators into confidence before pressing the speed boats into service.

The Central government is providing 65% subsidy to women for purchase of fishing boats, Ms. Prashanthi Reddy explained.

She took a dig at the YSR Congress party for playing politics even in the development of the region and said it was improper to politicise the establishment of Sagar defence company.

“Only an extent of 150 metre of the fishing harbour has been handed over to the company while the fisherman have all the remaining space at their disposal,” she explained.

“The party is not only creating confusion among the fishermen with half truths, but also trying to mislead them with unfounded and concocted stories,” Ms. Prashanthi hit back.
